Novi Sad is the 2nd largest city in Serbia, and the capital of the northern Serbian province Vojvodina. It spreads on both banks of the Danube river. It was inhabited since 4500BC, but the modern day city dates from 1694.
Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina is founded in 1966. It has excessive permanent collection of modern and contemporary art. Its program is to promote cutting edge national and international contemporary art. The museum is in the process of expanding to an extensive complex of 3 reconstructed existing buildings and addition of two new buildings.
